This is fairly catchy and has nice lyrics, too. I think the main issue I have with it, though, is that the guitar could be louder (and the vocals could be turned down a bit), as it's hard to listen at some points. The singing was overall okay, but, as you pointed out, a bit flat/pitchy in some parts. Still, a nice song.

Ceevro responds:

Hmm...easy adjustments to make. Will re-mix when I get home.

I like this. It's fairly unique, well-mixed and the instruments you picked worked well for it. I guess the only issue I have with it is that it's a bit repetitive, somewhat lacking variety.

lantaren responds:

yeah, repetition is always an issue for me, unfortunately. Anything I do, sometimes, just doesn't work at all for the track -always looking for ways that I can improve there. Anyways, I'm glad you like it.

This wasn't good enough for the NGADM? How weird.

I really enjoyed it. Very exciting and intense, especially because of the drums.

Lich responds:

Who knows when it comes to the NGADM haha. Quite afew people who I thought would get in never did either.

Glad that you like the track, thank you for listening and rating! :)

I liked it. The melodical progression is simple yet catchy. It' also well mixed. I have some issues with your structural choices, though: the music loses tension around the middle and basically restarts, instead of progressing to a greater climax. The transitions between stages with different instruments also don't happen very naturally, and the end is also too abrupt (considering this isn't a loop).

As others have said, great production. It fits very well with the theme, and has great melodies. I imagine it must have been quite difficult to obtain all these instruments.

I don't think I know if there's any way in which I can criticize it.

SoundChris responds:

Thanks a lot Blacklawn! To get most of the instruments isnt that hard - there is a library by eduardo tarilonte called ERA Medieval Legends which includes 50 or 60 medieval instruments. Its an awesome product right out of the box and for that much content it also is affordable. Glad you liked my little piece here.

All the Best,
Chris

I like the overall atmosphere you came up with. I think it would be interesting if the percussion was a bit louder. That melody in the end seemed slightly random at some parts.... Maybe it's just my impression. I also think some of the shifts in the theme are premature and seem somewhat disconnected: you could work a little more in the transition between each part, perhaps making it a little longer than it currently is.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, good job. Despite the length, it didn't feel too repetitive. The synths worked really well, and the drums were probably the best part. I don't really have any complaints.

Wayv responds:

Well thanks!

I think this would benefit from more instrumentation and/or complexity. I know that it's meant to be simple, but the lead becomes a little monotonous after a while. I guess what I liked the most about it were the drums. While it is well mixed and there is nothing really wrong with it, it is not particularly distinct either.

I think the beginning with the piano is a bit too long and unfocused. I would prefer a more clean sounding piano, as well, but I guess that's just personal.

When the drums start, things get interesting. I really like the drums you've used. I loved the wobble with the melodic synth in the background. Really unique and atmospheric.

The beginning felt slow, but the rest was interesting enough to make up for that. Good job.

I really liked the feeling and the synths you used. The drums also work well. The first buildup is a bit long, but that's no big deal. The melody in the end was also very relaxing.
